Tavis Smiley always does dope interviews… The guy is talented and asks some great questions. He had Lupe Fiasco on awhile back and I thought he did a phenomenal job. This time, he rounded up Nasir for a cool interview. Tavis recruits some quality hip-hop artists and doesn’t focus on the mainstream / popular ones… that’s why I think his show is quality.
Here we’ve got the DOPE Killer Mike going in for his Sunday Morning Massacre II… Dude slays the Jockin’ Jay-Z instrumental and does the usual. They go over some commandments and translate them for ya. Anyways, KM stays grindin’ and goes in over Jay’s beat… “Dope Boy Fresh” is officially the new “A Milli” / “Incredible”… peep this ish.
Here is an animated video For Twista’s track “Whip Game Proper” which features Lil Wayne. I’m definitely diggin these animated vids. This one is cool, it’s just not as funny as others I’ve seen… Whatever though, still a good job.
Here we’ve got the dude Ill Bill chillin n’ talking about when he was first exposed to hip-hop music, his life growing up in the Glenwood Projects, and more. Ill Bill talks about Metallica, Iron Maiden, and other rock T-Shirts and their designs. Chekkitout. Ill has really stepped up the vlogging game as of late, eh?
Here we have some footage of DJ Semtex chatting with Q-Tip at Rock The Bells 2008 in Boston. They talk about which artists Q-Tip thinks are hot, his upcoming album, and more. I’m looking forward to hearing more from Q-Tip… Be on the lookout!
The dude Random just shot over some instrumentals from his album “Mega Ran.” He made it clear that he had a lot of fun working on his album “Mega Ran.” I definitely dig Random, he has a real image and is actually a school teacher during the daytime. For more info on the dude Random and these instrumentals, be sure to hit up his blog. If you liked these instrumentals, you can cop the “Mega Ran” album here. If you like instrumentals from video games, you’ll dig this project. Peep below for the DL.
Here we have The Game chillin with the dude Dj Jelly. The 2 discuss L.A.X. – about it being Jayceon’s final album… (doubt it)… He’s still gotta hook up with the Doc… haha Anyways, he also talks about his album artwork for L.A.X. and what meaning it had behind it. Then, JT discusses rappers he respects like T.I., Lupe, Kanyeezy, and Jeezy… Be sure to cop L.A.X. when it drops – AUG. 26th!
It being a Sunday and all, I figured you all needed to kick back and relax… What better way to relax AND listen to some quality music while bumping “Electric Relaxation” by A Tribe Called Quest. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks… IDK if I’m going to make another post today, maybe towards the end of the day I’ll hit up some tracks, but I’m goin to hit the weights, get in some cardio, and keep my ass fit. Chuuuuuch.
