WALE (We Ain’t Like Everyone) just released the official “That Way video” featuring Jeremih and Rick Ross… This is off of the Maybach Music Group “Self Made Vol. 1 album” which is in stores now. A short while back, you should have gotten the WALE Eleven One Eleven Theory mixtpae as a prequel to his upcoming “Ambition album.” Anyways, I like everything I’ve heard from MMG recently. On this particular track, I’d have to say that Jeremih gets MVP for that smooth-as-hell chorus, but they all make quality respective contributions.
WALE – That Way Video (feat. Rick Ross & Jeremih) (Official)
I think that the video above turned out to be really quality. I’m actually glad they went with this track because it showcases the fact that they can make smooth classy music and not just street bangers like “PacMan“… Musically, I’ve got to give Rick Ross a lot of credit for organizing the team and making MMG a heavyweight group in the game. Really even Meek Mill has been putting out some great music lately like the “Dream Chasers Mixtape” and Pill has been on the grind with “The Diagnosis” project. Oh and did I mention the fact that Ross has the underground (super dope) Stalley in his lineup… Click here to read more.. »
Nicki Minaj is here with her latest “Fly video” featuring Rihanna. It’s off of Nicki’s “Pink Friday album” which has been out for a long ass time now. This is another Cash Money Records release… Anyways, I did happen to see Nicki win an award at the VMA’s, but on the real, what was she trying to prove with her apparel? There are really no words for how bad it was… Yeah I know you’re a “Barbie” but you looked like a female Porygon (the Pokemon). The thing is, I actually think Porygons are cool, but I don’t want to see Minaj wearing another one of those… Okay I’ll stop the hate.
Rihanna & Nicki Minaj – Fly Video (Official)
It has been awhile since I’ve posted new Nicki up here… Back in 2009 I posted a video of Nicki Minaj and Omarion, and since then I haven’t really posted much at all. I don’t really know what else there is to say other than she’s probably working on some more new music. She has taken a temporary hiatus from her solo grind and she’s pretty much involved with Pop remixes with Ke$ha, Britney Spears, et al. Click here to read more.. »
Big K.R.I.T. is here with his new official “The Vent video” from his “Return Of 4 Eva” soon to be released as an album on the same date as J. Cole’s project. Anyways, K.R.I.T. (King Recognized In Time) is always putting out good music for the people and that’s why I’m a big fan. He’s from Mississippi and has been really carrying the state on his back over the course of the past year or so. He was recently featured in the 2 Chainz “Pimps video” with Bun B and put out the “Last King 2: God’s Machine mixtape” to give you some awesome unreleased material before his album drops.
Big K.R.I.T. – The Vent Video (Official)
What I like about this song “The Vent” is that it’s dedicated to the passing of his grandma, who played a huge role in making K.R.I.T. the person that he is today. This is real music, raw emotion, and it demonstrates his talent as an artist. Although he definitely has some more upbeat bangers, he is definitely not afraid to showcase his skills and stay underground. People are starting to come full circle and realize that they should be looking out for more from K.R.I.T. and should definitely get ready for his debut album. Click here to read more.. »
Kendrick Lamar is here with his new official “ADHD video” from his “Section 80 album” which has been out for a long time now. If you didn’t buy a copy, all I’m going to say is shame on you – this is probably the best release of the year thus far. The album is a personal favorite and so far, although I’ve given select albums almost as much rotation as “Section 80” nothing is on the same level. Even Kanye and Jay-Z’s latest effort isn’t messing with this project. When he released this, it surprised me that it was as good as it was. Since the song “A.D.H.D.” was a personal favorite from the album, I’m VERY GLAD that Kendrick gave it the video treatment.
Kendrick Lamar – A.D.H.D. Video (Official)
“8 doobies to the face (fuck daht), 12 bottles in the case (fuck daht), 2 pills in the halfway… fuck daht”
Not only that, Kendrick is one of the most down to Earth people in the game these days. He’s all about west coast unity (Black Hippy) and represents unity in hip hop music – which I fully support. Anyways, the video was directed by Vashtie and presented by RockSmith. The video was shot in New York City during some very hot days during this July 2011 summer and is the third video from the “Section.80” project. Click here to read more.. »
Lil Wayne is here with his official “How To Love video” off of his Tha Carter IV album which is coming soon. In fact, it’s set to be released digitally the night of the VMAs in order take full advantage of that hype and buzz. I’m wondering whether the project will outsell “Watch The Throne” but honestly don’t care if it does because I don’t think the quality will be as high as Jay-Z and Mr. West set. The one thing I like about Weezy though is that he isn’t afraid to mix things up and is one of the most competitive people in his craft. I think that the competitive energy is what draws people into his music and causes him to always push himself to do something different.
Lil Wayne – How To Love Video (Official)
I can understand why people like the song “How To Love” but to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of it. It is a commercial song, but it’s not something you’re going to find me listening to when his album drops. If I could pick any Wayne to listen to, it would be back in the good old days when he was working heavily with Mannie Fresh. I’m actually kind of depressed that him and Mannie no longer are working together because they both are incredibly talented at what they do.
Mannie though I know is trying to overcome some mental obstacles after leaving Cash Money and coping with the death of his daughter. Songs like “Bring It Back” and “Go DJ” are two of my most played Wayne jams of all time. What’s hilarious is that I’d guess that most fans of Wayne these days have no clue about songs like “Tha Block Is Hot,” the entire “500 Degreez album,” or know who B.G., Turk, and Juvenile were… It’s unfortunate. Juvenile needs to start putting out more music so I can at least post him up… Click here to read more.. »
Royce Da 5’9″ just released his official “Writer’s Block video” featuring Eminem (the other half of Bad Meets Evil) from his “Success Is Certain album” which just dropped and is really solid. Although this wasn’t my favorite song off of the album, it was one of my favorites and I think is easily one of the hardest. My favorite from the album was either “Security” or “Legendary (feat. Travis Barker)” but there were a lot of jams on there. I can definitely understand why Royce went with this joint for his video because it was the first single, is an awesome song, and features Eminem – best choice for sure. In case you didn’t know, the duo also recently released their official “Bad Meets Evil Lighters video” as well… Shady is making moves.
Royce Da 5’9″ – Writer’s Block Video (Official) (feat. Eminem)
In the second half of the video, the beat changes to the DJ Premier remix of this track. I’ll be honest, I may have hated on the Premier version a little bit more than I should have in my review, but I do get a little bit annoyed at the repetitive horns and dragged out horns after awhile. That’s why I’ve gotta say that although he’s a legend, I respectfully wasn’t fully into it. I think if he would have changed it up a little more, it would have been better instead of dragging out the horns in repetitive fashion. Click here to read more.. »
Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ (Bad Meets Evil) are here with their official “Lighters video” featuring Bruno Mars. Personally, this was one of my least favorite tracks from the “Bad Meets Evil Hell: The Sequel album” but I can completely understand why this song was successful… It has A) Eminem on it and B) Bruno Mars is on the chorus which was clearly made for the pop charts slash mainstream music lovers. I don’t think the song is bad per se, it’s just something you’ll never catch me listening to because I don’t like it. Bruno Mars has a ton of singing talent, but I don’t like his music – yes I even hate the “Lazy Song.” I can appreciate his artistic appeal and don’t hate him directly as a person, maybe if I met him I’d think he was even pretty cool… or not.
Bad Meets Evil – Lighters Video (Official) (feat. Bruno Mars)
Anyways, I don’t think I hate him quite as much as Tyler The Creator of Odd Future. Anyways I am a huge Em fan and a huge Royce fan so that’s why I’m posting this up. Plus I know a lot of people DO like this song and can rock with it, so I don’t want to NOT post something that many people will enjoy (i.e. Hip Pop). The video above is actually pretty damn good despite the fact that I’m not a huge fan of the song. Bruno Mars is playing the piano and Eminem n’ Royce rock out in a tunnel with red lights… Click here to read more.. »
Stalley is here with his official “Chevys and Space Ships video” which I think is one of the doper videos I’ve seen in awhile now from his “Lincoln Way Nights Mixtape.” He has been on his grind and to be honest, he’s definitely an artist that I have a lot of respect for. He comes from Cleveland and his genre is classified as “Intelligent Trunk Muzik” which I can definitely rock with. I’ve been following this guy for almost 2 years now and it’s cool to witness his progression. Will he ever make it big in the mainstream? IDK, but I can guarantee that he’ll always be one hell of a consistent underground hip hop music artist.
Stalley – Chevys and Space Ships Video (Official)
A short while back I posted up the Maybach Music Group representative’s “Pound video” and now he came through with a new one. In case you wanted more details regarding the “Lincoln Way Nights” project, just know that it is going to be re-released (via SMC/Fontana) on October 25, 2011 so that you can go out and support. Right now you can download it for free online (which is also baller). The video above was directed by Illusive Media (Shomi Patwary and Robbie Elliot). I’m interested to see what kind of moves Stalley makes in the game within the next couple years; hopefully a new debut album after this project! Click here to read more.. »
Mac Miller delivers his official “Frick Park Market video” with production from ID Labs for his first single off of his upcoming “Blue Slide Park album.” This video was presented by Rex Arrow Films, Rostrum Records, and TreeJTV. I’ll start out by saying, damn this is a banger and ID Labs went crazy with this instrumental. I don’t mean to dickride or anything, but I have been listening to Mac Miller all summer and that “Best Day Ever mixtape” has been on heavy rotation. Based on the first single, I’d say that the album is going to be creative and is going to sound great. I’m still not sure when the release date is, but I’ll keep the peeps posted when I find something out.
Mac Miller – Frick Park Market Video (Official) (prod. ID Labs)
The video above features Mac at the “Frick Park Market” – a place in his community where he always used to stop to get some amazing food. I really like how Mac is so passionate about his community back in Pennsylvania. His album name is after a community park (Blue Slide Park) where he grew up and made many memories as a kid and teenager. Anyways, I don’t know how people can hate when the lyrics are on point and the kid just was deemed the “new Eminem” by Donald Trump himself after hearing the song “Donald Trump” and seeing that it got 20 million views on YouTube. Consequence has delivered his official “Comic Book Flow video” off of his “Movies On Demand 3” project which is coming August, 19th, 2011 (a.k.a. this Friday). The thing is, I have always been down with Consequence and his music; he’s a very solid artist. I just think that he’s letting his ego get the best of him as of lately by attacking Kanye West and Pusha T (on the “Everybody Told Me video“… Seriously, just focus on making quality music and GOOD things will happen (pun intended). The entire GOOD Music roster is doing their damn thing, and when Cons releases tracks like “Comic Book Flow” he is doing his damn thing as well.
Consequence – Comic Book Flow Video (Official)
This video features your favorite super heros and villains for cameos and in the description, it says that it is sure to be every “Comic Book head’s favorite video.” I don’t know why he’s trying to prove that he’s better than other people. My mentality is make good music and let others argue about who’s the best. When you tell others that you’re better than them, you obviously feel an internal lack. If you really believed it, you wouldn’t need to come out and tell people, they would already know based on the talent that you possess. Anyways, I kind of got sidetracked there and went on a rant… Click here to read more.. »
