There are a few ridiculously dope albums coming out in the near future that have got me geeked up. The recently finished 3rd album by lyrical stud Lupe Fiasco, entitled LASERS; is sure to make waves again by expanding the FNF fan-base. Since the original FNF mixtapes, Lupe’s talent for writing has always been evident; but his improvement of overall sound has allowed him to tap into specific fan-bases of unique sub-genres. Look forward to this soon-to-be classic, headlined by single “I’m Beamin’,” now on iTunes. No official release date has been issued, but the project is 100% finished and in the hands of Atlantic Records.

Another album that is sure to be in heavy rotation this Spring is gangsta rapper Game’s The RED Album. With the release of single “Shake” just last week, Game too is changing up his typical beat selection. Since confirming his return to Aftermath recently on Twitter, fans are expecting to see some pure Dr. Dre production on this album, with release date of March 23. Also hitting stores on the 23rd is Big Boi’s first solo album Sir Lucious Left Foot.

There are three collaboration efforts; possible classics, hitting stores within months. They are Reflection Eternal (Talbi Kweli & Hi-Tek), Nas & Damien Marley have a project coming out, and out just next week Freeway and Jake One have a highly anticipated, critically acclaimed album entitled the Stimulus Package. These albums are a hip hop fan’s dream.

As for other artists looking to put in work in 2010, the Cool Kids’ When Fish Ride Bicycles is expected this Spring. Jay Electronica is also expected to finally step up to the plate and put something out of the park. Cleveland hopeful and Kid Cudi sidekick Chip tha Ripper has been putting in work lately and making noise with the Cleveland Show mixtape; look for him to do it big this year as well.

More updates to come ~ holla atchya boy

Hey everybody, just wanted to say that I’m in the process of starting some new music projects… I’ll keep y’all updated as they progress and will still consider re-upping this website. It’s still drawing in tons of traffic, but the fact that it hasn’t been updated for awhile (months) means a slow decline.

Anyways, I’ve still been listening to tons of hip hop music, and have not fallen off the map entirely. A couple of things regarding projects that I’m looking forward to and recommend.

If you do not yet have Kid Cudi’s album “Man on the Moon” – you owe it to yourself to buy a copy – best damn album I’ve heard yet this year. Who else is doing it big? Raekwon’s release of OB4CL2 is heatrock for the Rae fans of the world. Get Lil Wayne’s “No Ceilings” like the rest of the world if you don’t have it yet… its piffery.

Sean Price (get Kimbo Price if you ain’t got it yet)… look out for Mic Tyson! Upcoming projects to lookout for include: WALE – Attention Deficit (Nov 10), The Clipse – Til The Casket Drops, 50 Cent – Before I Self Destruct, Joell Ortiz – Free Agent, Snoop Dogg – Malice In Wonderland, Wiz Khalifa – Deal or No Deal, Game – R.E.D. Album, Gucci Mane – The State vs. Radric Davis (BURR)…haha

A few artists to keep your eyes on include: Big Sean, Mike Posner, and Lupe Fiasco… The first 2 are just getting started, and Lupe has been touring for awhile, so watch out for LASERS!

Wussup everybody, this is Yung Drew just writing to y’all to let ya know that the posting on this site will be significantly slowed or stopped, due to several issues – mainly due to the economy. Unfortunately, I am in a position where I need to find other work in order to support myself and pay my student bills / loans…

I have thoroughly enjoyed promoting hip-hop on this site, but unfortunately – it doesn’t provide me with money to buy food or a means to support myself. I also spend an incredibly large amount of time answering emails, writing new posts, uploading new tracks, etc. Yes, I have always loved hip-hop, (and egotistically speaking) – I feel as though I love it more than YOU.

As far as the website goes:

I have also considered changing things up by publishing a couple of large posts per week with fairly lengthy artist interviews. I also may start writing reviews for new albums. I am considering keeping up with a Top 10 list of my favorite tracks each week, and am also considering doing a significant number of interviews with artists. I am also likely going to be writing album reviews.

I do love publishing what is essentially info.crack (i.e. constant new posts / etc.) – but it takes a toll on me mentally, I spend a lot of time each day blogging, and I feel like the constant publishing of new tracks is unoriginal. Not that this is terrible, but it doesn’t really provide the site with any unique flavor – esp. since people can download new promo songs anywhere nowadays (i.e. Torrents, FrostWire, LimeWire, and other various blogs).

Running this site has been a blessing, and I am grateful for everybody who has enjoyed stopping by! I am not going to ever shut it down – as it will evolve into more of an in-depth artist interview blog / album review blog / personal blog. If I find some dope tunes, sure I’ll throw em up. However, I just wanted to make everyone aware that I will likely be chillin’ out with posting frequency. No need to stop by here 10x per day… etc.

I am going to focus on writing more instead of posting links. If you’d like to work on this blog or have me work for you – just hit me up on the email and we can further discuss.

I LOVE HIP-HOP,

-DREW
