Common dropped the official “Ghetto Dreams video” with Nas on the feature and I never posted it up. This is some really raw hip hop music and I’m a huge fan of this track. It’s set to be off of “The Dreamer The Believer album” which is scheduled to be released this fall through Warner Bros. Not to mention the fact that this video is really dope and I dig that everything was shot in black and white (no Mellohype). Anyways, if you cannot dig this song I honestly don’t know what to tell you other than your hip hop taste probably is misaligned from what it should be. These are two legends and lyrical heavyweights and the instrumental for this song is banging. Everything about this track is super dope and it exceeded my expectations.
Common – Ghetto Dreams Video (Offical)
For some reason I was convinced that Common would never make an album that would exceed the quality music that we all heard on “Be.” Part of the reason that I think “Be” did so damn well was because of the amazing organic production provided by Kanye West (who produced the entire thing). If Kanye would produce another Common album, I think it would be another amazing set of songs. With that said, I’m intrigued as to what he’s been up to. We all know he has the talent, the connections, and the history to drop another banging project, we’ll just have to wait to see how the full album sounds this fall when it drops. I think it’s going to be a treat for hip hop fans…. Click here to read more.. »
There are a few ridiculously dope albums coming out in the near future that have got me geeked up. The recently finished 3rd album by lyrical stud Lupe Fiasco, entitled LASERS; is sure to make waves again by expanding the FNF fan-base. Since the original FNF mixtapes, Lupe’s talent for writing has always been evident; but his improvement of overall sound has allowed him to tap into specific fan-bases of unique sub-genres. Look forward to this soon-to-be classic, headlined by single “I’m Beamin’,” now on iTunes. No official release date has been issued, but the project is 100% finished and in the hands of Atlantic Records.
Another album that is sure to be in heavy rotation this Spring is gangsta rapper Game’s The RED Album. With the release of single “Shake” just last week, Game too is changing up his typical beat selection. Since confirming his return to Aftermath recently on Twitter, fans are expecting to see some pure Dr. Dre production on this album, with release date of March 23. Also hitting stores on the 23rd is Big Boi’s first solo album Sir Lucious Left Foot.
There are three collaboration efforts; possible classics, hitting stores within months. They are Reflection Eternal (Talbi Kweli & Hi-Tek), Nas & Damien Marley have a project coming out, and out just next week Freeway and Jake One have a highly anticipated, critically acclaimed album entitled the Stimulus Package. These albums are a hip hop fan’s dream.
As for other artists looking to put in work in 2010, the Cool Kids’ When Fish Ride Bicycles is expected this Spring. Jay Electronica is also expected to finally step up to the plate and put something out of the park. Cleveland hopeful and Kid Cudi sidekick Chip tha Ripper has been putting in work lately and making noise with the Cleveland Show mixtape; look for him to do it big this year as well.
Here’s some CDQ axxion from T.I. and Nasir that got leaked like a mofo yesterday. I was considering not posting it, but IDK. Word is (from Interscope) that Dr. Dre isn’t on this track (or at least yet)…
NORE talks about how funny Big Pun was and addresses the rumor that he hit Nas with a Flower Pot Hit up the Vlad TV above and see what goes down with N.O. After the JUMP I included some more Vlad TV with Charli Baltimore talking about how Lil Kim reacted at Biggie’s funeral.
The official music video for Young Jeezy’s track “My President Is Black” featuring Nas has finally arrived… I’m a little late on posting it, but I’ve been busy with other work all day. Dope track, dope vid, get up on it y’all!!
Eeeeeetherboy a.k.a. Ron Browz talks about producing the track “Ether” for Nasir… In case you can’t tell by the embeded video player, this is some VLAD TV…. Also hit the JUMP for another exclusive episode of some models…I’m way behind 2day w/ posting…owwwww
Here’s the remix to Nas’ joint “Black President” featuring Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac, Christina K, Wale, Rhymefest, and Royce Da 5’9… Dope lineup – no reason NOT to watch this video. As I chill by my comp, I’m just trying to get some loose ends up here before I take a break.
